ABOUT us
Founded in 2017 by Creative Producer Tom Powell and a group of peers, Creative Vortex Productions (CVP) was born as a network of artists, creating award-winning events in the realms of Theatre, Film and Public Engagement.
After a long hiatus, Sara Al Ghanem revived CVP with her brand new production of The Barrio Project. The latter was a pilot for CVP’s new creative development programme (now PARTICIPATION PROGRAMME) aimed at creating space for diaspora communities in London to share their stories, collaborate in workshops and develop professional creative skills in many areas of theatre-making.
During the making of The Barrio Project, Sara was also appointed as CVP’s new Artistic Director. Having co-founded CVP and toured with the company between 2017 and 2018, she felt like the ideal candidate to carry on the torch. Under Sara’s leadership, CVP has taken a new direction and now focuses on bridging the worlds of community and commercial theatre.
